“Many don’t realize that (in our rural food bank at least) we assist in many more areas than supplying food. This includes coats for kids, swim passes, gas cards for those needing medical treatments, counseling, Odyssey House, help with grad fees, school healthy eating programs, hygiene supplies, informal loans, in other words a lot of things that are not covered by anything else. One of our specialties is a hug and a “you are important and not forgotten” message to those who feel lost and inferior. (Perhaps I should say “used to” give hugs because they are not allowed right now.)” Faye at Beaverlodge Food Bank
“Hythe & District Food Bank has already noticed an increase of families that are using the food bank due to COVID-19 layoffs. Our Food Bank supported 134 households last year. These dollars are precious. Thank you, Rotary Club of Grande Prairie.” Carrie at Village of Hythe.
